Recommendations for Care

Sterling Silver can tarnish over time. We do not recommend using silver polish because polish paste can deposit on and fill pores of the sea glass while cleaning the silver. Brushing with soap and water and buffing works well. Ultrasonic cleaning can damage or fracture glass, particularly when drilled, and is best avoided. Genuine sea glass has a patina and shows desirable "frosting" particularly obvious on older pieces which have spent more time in the ocean. Handling can deposit natural oils but occasional cleaning with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol will restore the natural appearance. To give your sea glass a deeper shine, as if still wet from the ocean, rub occasionally with a little mineral oil.
